UX Developer required by leading technology organisation based in West London. You will have a broad product background, with demonstrable product development experience in business platforms and ideally some experience of championing user centred design (UCD) as part of development teams. You will have a strong understanding of the principles of software architecture and UI framework development and use as well as creative skills in an enterprise context. This role is positioned across the technical/creative spectrum with the opportunity to shape the role accordingly.

Experience developing UIs to sit on a Microsoft (.Net) technology stack would be useful, ideally with experience in cross-device (responsive web or native) exposure as well.

You will also have a proven track record working in a team delivering innovative, consumable, products and experience in implementing compelling solutions and UI components. Key Responsibilities:

  • To design and develop modern, accessible front-end interfaces for enterprise software as part of several multi-skilled product development teams.
  • To develop desktop/tablet/mobile interfaces and applications using responsive-web design.
  • Work alongside application developers to keep development focussed on user needs and quality-assure implementation.
  • Work alongside wider product teams to keep ideas and designs technically feasible
  • Take the lead within a development team on ensuring UI is standards-compliant, performant, maintainable, accessible and cross-browser compatible as required.
  • Documenting and testing your code, and preparing test scenarios/packages for third party testing on occasion. Also debugging and issue resolution where the UI is involved.
  • To maintain and develop existing product UIs alongside product teams, whilst working towards a wider UI/UX strategy.
  • To support the UX process through prototyping and wireframing of proposals prior to implementation.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive commercial experience of developing and maintaining UIs for modern standards-compliant web applications using HTML/CSS/Javascript and associated technologies.
  • Substantial experience using related tools/frameworks, including LESS/SASS, jQuery, and Bootstrap (but without being overly-reliant on them)
  • Experience using Axure, Omnigraffle (or similar) for prototyping, wireframes and validating ideas.
  • Demonstrable experience and comfort working in an Agile environment, working in multiple product teams simultaneously.
  • Detailed understanding of cross-browser and cross-device issues, including limited support for legacy browsers
  • Awareness of accessibility standards (WAI-ARIA, screen readers etc) and the importance of accessibility in products.
  • Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator) for the purpose of sourcing, optimising and formatting simple visual assets (logos, icons, etc.)
  • Some experience using appropriate UX techniques (workshops, interviews, ethnographic studies etc) to develop understanding of problems and identify solutions.
  • Track record in providing combined technical/design skills within a multi-skilled product development team.
  • Strong written and presentation skills.
  • Interest in and willingness to present well-formed arguments in support/rejection of new techniques, tools and technologies in response to industry developments.


  • Experience managing large CSS (or LESS/SASS) frameworks
  • Experience with single page applications.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio (Web Essentials) and source control (e.g. GIT/TFS)
  • Experience with automated testing tools and techniques.
  • Experience sourcing and managing related UI assets (including icons, images, fonts, etc)
  • Experience with user testing, workshops, and other ‘UX design’ related skills.
