Business Applications Support Analyst is required by the Applications division of highly prestigious City based financial services organisation. The purpose of this role is to provide analytical and 2nd line operational applications support to a key business area. This is an initial 6 month contract, however with the possibility of multiple renewals.
This is a brand new role and is being created with the following objectives in mind: 1. to offer a focused 2nd line support experience to users; 2. to document and streamline support processes, and 3. to develop a structured approach to contribute insights and improvements from applications support into the applications development streams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate incidents reported by the business or 1st line support;
  • Communicate issue resolution or workaround to 1st line support or the requestor;
  • Escalate significant wide business impacting incidents to the IT Applications Owner,
  • Escalate incidents to the relevant development teams;
  • Monitor progress of outstanding support incidents;
  • Create and maintain support documentation.

Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience working in a dedicated applications support role.
  • Significant experience writing technical support documentation.
  • Experience working with predominantly Microsoft technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to building positive working relationships with both members of the IT team and business users.
  • Financial Services experience.
