Senior Desktop Support Engineer is required by a buoyant financial services organisation based in the city. This role will see you working closely with the Desktop Support Engineer Manager to oversee the day to day running of the IT Desktop Engineer team. This team delivers desk side technical responses to IT related issues to key personnel across a number of London based office locations.

Working in close conjunction with the IT Service Desk, you will ensure that any IT support solutions that require ‘hands-on’ assistance are delivered in a timely, professional and courteous manner. Pro-active floor walking activities are delivered as part of a visible value add service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical guidance to engineer staff
  • Ensure IT builds are delivered accurately and consistently taking into account the agreed company build specifications
  • Manage & develop engineer staff to help ensure that they remain in line with IT progress and developments
  • Co-ordinate 3rd party hardware repairs and maintenance where problems cannot be resolved in house
  • Ad-hoc project work as required by Desktop Support Engineer Manager

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, working with demanding clients and senior management
  • An understanding of the importance of excellent customer service and a “can do” attitude
  • The ability to work very well in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work pro-actively, under pressure and independently with minimal direction
  • Strong background in Microsoft Office

  • Microsoft Windows 7+
  • Windows Server 2008+
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Office365
  • Incident and Change Management
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Strong background in Windows
  • ITIL Foundation V3 certificate
