An IT Infrastructure Manager is required by our booming and globally renowned client in their Gateshead offices. This is an opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Manager to join the team at an exciting time where they will have the chance to help shape the future of the business and contribute the technology roadmap moving forward. You, the IT Infrastructure Manager, will be responsible for the support of all back office and security systems in line with the live IT services catalogue, ensuring SLA/OLA and contractual compliance at all times.

What you will be doing;

  • Train, coach and mentor members of the IT Team
  • Act as a point of escalation within the IT Live Services Support team
  • You will deputise for the Head of IT Delivery and Architecture, will have to demonstrate influencing skills at a senior level and across peers and their direct reporting teams
  • The role will be expected to be part of the Major Incident Response Team when it is called upon.
  • Budget input is required, with some budgetary signoff envisaged, though not yet defined.
  • Be committed to customer service excellence to deliver the strategic aims of DLR.
  • Monitor IT incident, problem and change workload to ensure quality service delivery standards and achieve objectives within agreed timeframes and budgetary constraints.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of Networks including Cisco, Checkpoint and Juniper as well as Network Security LAN & WAN
  • Knowledge of Servers such as Dell/HP/Windows/Linux
  • Database knowledge: SQL, MYSQL
  • Strong operational manager with good organisational/project management skills and attention to detail
  • ITIL R3 Foundation and / or experience of working in an ITIL environment
  • A good analytical approach to problem solving
  • If you have experience of working in secure environments this would be highly desirable
  • Ability to manage multiple technical work streams
  • Excellent understanding of the testing and release process for upgrades to software in an operational environment.
  • Excellent operational support skills
