Senior SQL DBA

The Role:

We are working with an exceptionally impressive and fast growing fintech who are looking for a Senior SQL DBA. In this role, you will not only be hands-on and manage the performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, but also help steer a roadmap to scale out their platform, by working closely with an exceptionally talented team of technologists.

With offices globally, they have made Barcelona their main European hub and have seen these offices treble in size over the last 2 years. This is a hybrid role with good flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes
• Propose new strategies to scale out the platform
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement
• Assist software architects in rethinking the solution to scale out (partitioning strategy, enabling horizontal scalability, etc.

Key Requirements:

• 8+ years experience as a DBA of which at least 3 years were spent with MS SQL Server
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
• Experience as a Data Engineer requiring solid technical skills
• Technology agnostic, eager to explore NoSQL solutions, to leverage Cloud solutions
