Data Architect, Azure, Databricks

The Role:

Data Architect is required by thriving Financial Services organisation. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing development of the Enterprise Data Platform. You will also support the group to achieve its business outcomes through the effective and compliant use of data and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead decision maker around design of the Enterprise Data Platform and its ongoing development to meet business needs
• Lead decision maker on Datamodelling methodology
• Raising awareness of data management with business users
• Defining the data needed to meet business needs
• Creating guiding data standards and principles
• Define the framework for the transformation of data from source systems to information used by the business for insight
• Establish preliminary data integration plan
• Capturing data journeys for the business reporting and insight needs
• Creating physical models of the relationships between data
• Recommend the data stages necessary for data transformation and information access
• Ensuring progress is in line with business transformation projects and programmes
• Manage a team of Data Engineers

Key Requirements:

• At least 2 years’ experience working at a senior level as a Lead Data Engineer or Data Architect
• Proven experience of designing and implementing an Azure Data Platform
• Experience using Python and Databricks
• Good understanding of Microsoft Server technologies (Azure, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI)
• Knowledge of cloud based big data frameworks such as data lake, relational, Graph and other no-SQL databases
• Experience using Data Governance & Data Quality systems and tools
• Experience in defining and measuring performance management metrics and/or data quality metrics
• Knowledge of data sources, transformation rules, and use of the data for the area of Data Stewardship
• Experience in the use of data catalogues and data quality technologies
• Operational management and change management
• Experience of working within the financial sector would be useful
