Head of Applications, Wealth Management

The Role:

Head of Applications is sought by the growing Wealth Management division of a buoyant and highly progressive financial services organisation. This role will be tasked with supporting a fast-growing business, managing key system providers (both internal and external) as well as helping to define and build new IT Services as required. The role is based in London, however there will be occasional travel to their European offices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Line management of circa 5 direct reports
• Build and maintain an effective relationship with business stakeholders
• Ensure an adequate organisation is in place to address local business requirements and day-to day operations and support
• Ensure good communication with the rest of the IT team (primarily in London and Europe) and external vendors
• Drive the design and implementation, in consultation with business stakeholders and Group, of a shared vision and a plan for IT applications and other IT requirements for the business, taking into account market developments and the availability of solutions
• Propose proactive changes to improve business efficiency
• Provide good visibility to management on progress, significant issues and incidents
• Through effective management and delegation ensure that a good level of documentation of London information systems (applications catalogue, design documents, operational guides, release notes, support documentation, etc )
• Ensure Wealth Management is aligned to group standards in terms of methodology and tools
• Manage and oversee relationship with external suppliers and internal suppliers
• Manage IT budgets

Key Requirements:

• Significant line management experience of both permanent and contract tech personnel
• Good general knowledge of business processes in Wealth Management
• Architecture skills for the design of an information system
• Strong technical knowledge on Microsoft technologies (MS Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, Office tools)
• Can do attitude
• Demonstrable commitment to achieving good outcomes for the clients of the business
• Evidence of strong Project Management and Vendor Management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
