IT Security Manager, Financial Services  

Salary: Circa £100k + Bonus + Benefits

The Role:

IT Security Manager is required by vibrant and extremely prestigious financial services organisation with offices in the City of London (hybrid working). We are looking for an experienced IT Security professional able to manage and increase the maturity of the security operations function and team.

You will be responsible for both maintaining and improving security controls, frameworks and processes, and facilitating the delivery of new technology that improves their security posture and protects our business.

As the IT Security Manager, you will ensure resilient, dependable security services are delivered across the entire estate and in all regions. You will be working with leaders in IT, Security, Information Security Risk, alongside key suppliers to help shape the operating model of the function to ensure that the services we provide meet the current and future needs of the business.

You will be experienced in managing IT security operations/engineering teams ideally in a financial services environment, closely working with outsourced technology providers to drive positive security change. You will be a strong communicator able to inspire your team and colleagues, collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the whole organisation, and being capable of leveraging these skills to ensure security incidents are dealt with efficiently and effectively.

  • Lead and manage the IT Security operations/engineering functions
  • Manage relationships and the performance of outsourced security providers
  • Develop and implement technical security policies, standards and procedures to protect the IT systems and data against threats
  • Ensure BAU security operations services are dealt with efficiently in line with any SLA’s
  • Delivery of IT Security services including (but not limited to) – Security Operations, Threat and Vulnerability Management, Privileged Access Management, Identify and Access Management, Data Loss Prevention and Penetration Testing
  • Act as lead SME on IT and Cyber Security Improvement Projects
  • Manage IT Security Incidents including conducting forensic investigations as needed
  • Provide direction and guidance acting as an SME on IT security matters
  • Oversee and operate security controls (process & tools) to safeguard the security (integrity, confidentiality and availability) of all IT Systems in line with the expectations of a top tier global financial institution. Aligned to frameworks such as ISO27001/NIST
  • Demonstrate that security controls are effective and therefore are compliant with policy defined by InfoSec second line
  • Support and assist in the coordination and delivery IT Governance, Due Diligence and Audit activities
  • Deliver technical security reviews to ensure technologies are in compliance with information security standards, regulatory requirements and best practices

  • Significant experience within in an IT Security role a focus on security operations and incident management
  • Experience managing and overseeing outsourced security functions.
  • Strong technical skills especially IT Security tools in the E5/Microsoft 365/Defender suite.
  • Extensive experience managing security teams who are responsible for security operations and security
  • Experienced with toolsets and technologies such as SIEM, PIM, PAM, Endpoint Protection, EDR, IPS/IDS, MFA, Encryption, Next Gen Firewalls.
  • Strong knowledge of operational security management and tooling across multiple platform environments especially those of the main cloud providers.
  • A good understanding of risk management principles and practices
  • Ability to speak French desirable but not essential.
  • Professional security certifications or equivalents such as:
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field,
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
