The Role:

Azure Technical Specialist is sought by a prestigious financial services organisation based in the heart of the city (hybrid working). Within this role you will help to support the organisation’s infrastructure – both Azure and on-premise – instigating improvement initiatives whilst taking ownership and resolving day-to-day operational issues (requests, incidents, configuration management or scheduled changes). This is a highly technical role that will require collaboration with many different teams across IT.

  • Secure and maintain Private and Public Cloud based applications within Windows Server, Active Directory and other technologies
  • Manage incidents, change requests and configuration activities
  • Responsible for Azure Operational run activities, including Monitoring, Backup/Recovery, Provisioning, Capacity management
  • Maintain security, integrity and business resilience controls and documents
  • Investigate and resolve problems as required, specifically in relation to server management
  • Producing good quality and timely documentation for all assigned tasks
  • Use appropriate tools to analyse, identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Proactively ensuring 1st line support functions have the correct skills / tooling / permissions to resolve incident / request at the point of contact
  • Risk management – highlighting risks and ensuring that they are documented with potential options for resolution / mitigations
  • Participate in project deliverables / outcomes as and when assigned to do so

 

Key Requirements:

Key Skills and Experience:

  •  Experience of Operating in a Private and Public cloud technical environment
  • Demonstrable experience supporting Windows Server based solutions, e.g. Active Directory Forests, High-Availability multi-tier server deployments
  • Previous technical experience of Windows Server 2016 & 2019
  • Proven experience of networking and communications, routers, firewalling, DNS, DHCP
  • Automation – Experience of automating repeatable tasks
  • Demonstrable experience of administering Microsoft Azure
  • Proven track record in and technical knowledge of entire IT Infrastructure, both Private Cloud and Public Cloud, including Networks, Hyper-V, VMware, security and compute environments
  • Demonstrable experience of operating private and public cloud environments
  • PowerShell
  • Working in complex, busy environments with changing priorities
  • Effective communication skills – ability to articulate and report on complex technical tasks
