The Role:

Technical Lead – Disaster Recovery

London/Hybrid

To £78k + bonus (25%) + benefits      

Technical Lead with extensive Disaster Recovery experience is sought by prestigious retailer. You will be focused on developing and implementing the corporate policies, procedures and technologies that ensure the recovery, security and integrity of company data, information systems and technology in the event of disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

• Primary technical lead for Disaster recovery proactive management and support
• Continuity planning, testing and maintenance to ensure an appropriate level of resilience and recovery capability is retained.
• Management and updating of all IT continuity plans for business-critical processes.
• Define IT resilience strategies based on the results of the business impact analysis and risk assessments.
• Review and propose architecture designs and develop Disaster Recovery strategies based on the availability.
• Identification and evaluation of risks that could impact in the availability of applications.
• Develop and document Disaster Recovery Plans (detailed documentation of how to recover the application based on previous identified risks; escalation process).
• Design and revision of IT architectures (cloud and on premise). Focusing on availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery possibilities.
• Design, implement and exercise business continuity systems and processes; working with business stakeholders to identify and document critical business impacts, recovery plans and priorities of organisational readiness, ensuring recovery plans are fit for purpose.
• Ensure IT systems are fully documented to audit changes and updates and to support business change and operations.
• Supports and acts as back up for other technology towers covered by other members of the team (Azure, Security, Networks, etc)
• Leads and participates in working with other departments to provide proactive, responsive, and timely solutions to customer and product issues.
• Ensures appropriate systems, policies, budgets, controls, and procedures are in place to support sound, legal practices in support of the strategic direction of the business.
• Manage suppliers to ensure they are delivering quality services in line with agreed SLAs and extract maximum value from these relationships.
• Provide monthly/quarterly reports as required to include, but not exhaustive to infrastructure usage, growth, capacity planning.
• Work with change control and aid with testing approved changes.

Key Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of business continuity and IT disaster recovery processes / methodologies
• Ability to develop and implement disaster recovery plans, including backup and recovery strategies, data replication, and high availability configurations.
• Strong technical skills and demonstrated expertise in IT infrastructure.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX.
• Understanding of disaster recovery testing methodologies, including scenario testing and drill exercises.
• Proven Experience of backup solutions such as Azure, Backup Exec, System Center DPM, Commvault/Metallic backup.
• Prior experience conducting risk assessment.
• Ability to evaluate and recommend new disaster recovery technologies and solution.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of professionals capable of achieving aggressive business goals and objectives.
• Extensive experience and high-level responsibility for security and data protection within a multi-site network.
