Data Analytics Lead, Insurance

The Role:

Data Analytics Lead required by Global Insurance organisation with offices in the heart of the City of London. This is a new position within a high growth area and will play a crucial role in transforming the organisation into a data-driven and customer-centric enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a cutting-edge team of data specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning across the business.
• Develop and execute the overall data analytics strategy, aligning it with the business objectives and goals for BI, MI and Data Science modelling.
• Design and implement data analytics models and methodologies to extract actionable visualisation and insight from large and complex datasets.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders.
• Develop a strategic platform strategy to analyse historical insurance data to identify patterns, trends, and correlations, enabling more accurate risk assessments and pricing models.
• Develop predictive models to support the business in forecasting future claims, customer behaviour, and market trends, enabling proactive decision-making and strategic planning.
• Establish and maintain data analytics governance standard across platforms, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of data analytics initiatives, tracking key metrics and presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in data analytics, insurance industry practices, and relevant technologies, and assess their potential impact on business operations.
• Foster a culture of data literacy and data-driven decision-making across the organisation, through self-serve training and resources to enhance data literacy and analytics capabilities.

Key Requirements:

• Significant previous experience in data analytics within Insurance.
• Previous team leadership experience is preferable.
• Extensive knowledge of data analytics techniques, statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization tools.
• An understanding of programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and ideally some visualisation tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, or Tableau.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations, and industry best practices in data security and compliance.
