The Role:

QA Tester

£40k/annum (DOE)

Our respected software house client are seeking a proactive and experienced QA Tester to join their software team and help establish a robust testing practice from the ground up.

This is a newly created role where you’ll play a key role in shaping the testing strategy, introducing best practices, and improving the overall quality and reliability of our product. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team of passionate developers and stakeholders who value performance, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute manual test cases, with a view to incorporating automated testing over time.
• Collaborate closely with developers and product stakeholders to understand requirements and define test strategies early in the development cycle.
• Document and manage defects throughout the development process.
• Propose and implement structured testing processes, tools, and standards.
• Gain a deep understanding of our niche, complex system and deliver meaningful test coverage quickly.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a reliable, reusable suite of test cases for critical areas of the product.

Key Requirements:

Skills & Experience

3+ years of hands-on QA experience in a software development environment.
Comfortable working in an unstructured or early-stage environment; capable of building processes from scratch.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect tracking, and test case design.
Experience testing web-based applications, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
Strong analytical skills and an ability to quickly grasp complex systems and identify edge cases.
Excellent communication skills; comfortable collaborating with developers and sharing constructive feedback.
Bonus: Experience with test automation frameworks or scripting is a plus.
