Once obtaining his Business degree Marcus commenced his career in the recruitment arena. After a successful stint within the IT sector and given his extreme drive and passion for the industry in the year 2000 he set up ARC IT.
Marcus hasn’t looked back and over 17 years has successfully grown a team of excellent and dedicated recruiters and team members. He wanted to create a determined and motivated team that bring results within an upbeat and sociable environment. Marcus feels it is so important to keep moral up in the office so therefore regular team building and social events are essential! He is extremely pleased with ARC IT’s success and is positive and ambitious in planning the future.
When he’s not tied to his desk with a phone glued to his ear Marcus enjoys spending time with his family. He like’s a pint or two but you’ll also find him propping up one of the great juice bars near the office of a lunch time….!
Rebecca is an accomplished recruiter with more than 17 years’ experience in the industry. A graduate of Queen Mary & Westfield University, ULU, she spent 8 years working in the City and West End for a highly reputed support agency before the arrival of two ankle biters and a return to her hometown of Brighton.
She joined ARC IT in 2008, initially part of the ARC IT double act with her identical twin Sylvia (now recruiting in Singapore), leading to her current position of Executive Consultant managing a number of high-profile and highly valued accounts. Rebecca’s clients span Investment Banks and Insurance companies to smaller digital agencies, working across all level of technical roles. Her ever-busy and successful desk is run with the invaluable support of Resourcer Laura. Together they provide a fresh and positive approach to their assignments which ensures clients and candidates alike an engaged, committed and streamlined service.
Carla has been working within the recruitment industry over the past 13 years, involved in administration, resourcing and office management. After 2 years of setting out in the recruitment world, Carla was offered an exciting opportunity to head out to Dubai to help set up the Middle East office. After 4 years of living the highlife, she decided she missed the rain and tax so returned to the UK where she was headhunted by ARC IT and has been within the company for over 4 years, managing the office and all operations. In her spare time, Carla enjoys going to the gym, attending gigs and festivals, social nights out and spending time with her 4 year old son.
As a child Carla enjoyed building dens, stealing apples from the farmer and smashing up New Kids on the Block records.
Corinna has been working in the recruitment industry for the past 25 years and commenced within the Industrial sector which involved being on call 24/7 by pager (mobile phones weren’t commonly used back in 1992!). After a couple of years she moved in to the Commercial sector and ran very busy temporaries desks for high street agencies in Crawley and Brighton. Corinna then transferred to permanent recruitment and enjoyed specialising in Human Resources and Marketing. She joined ARC IT as Office and Brand Manager in November 2016. Having spent all of her working life as a recruiter Corinna feels that she is well equipped to support the busy, hardworking Consultants here at ARC IT.
In her spare time Corinna enjoys spending time at the Gym, going out for dinner with family and friends (which is why she needs to spend time at the gym…..) and supporting her talented son, Harrison, at his Sussex County Tennis tournaments.
After a childhood spent in the wilds of Suffolk, Laura moved to London after university where she accidentally fell into a career in recruitment. For 5 years she worked as an in-house recruiter predominantly within the finance, sales and digital marketing sectors working on roles at all levels from office junior through to senior management.
In 2015 Laura moved to Brighton and joined Arc IT where she works alongside Rebecca resourcing candidates and providing administrative support.
Laura has a Master’s degree in creative writing and, when not working, can often be found reading in the park or frowning over the latest chapter of the novel she is writing. She has a very spoilt tabby cat called Manny, a goldfish called Kio-ora and the long-held ambition to own a herd of pigmy goats.
Tom came to Brighton 13 years ago to complete a degree in History and Philosophy. Enjoying his time and the beautiful seaside location he has stayed on and forged a career in recruitment.
Tom has joined the team having gathered great experience across major Engineering and IT Recruitment markets around the UK, Europe & the US, which he is putting to good use here at ARC.
In his spare time Tom likes to keep active, playing with/laughing at his (runt of the pack) cat 'Pudding', whilst not forgetting to fit in time for a beer or two (conservative estimate) when the mood strikes!!
After living and working in Berlin for over six years, Amy returned to the big smoke and began her career in recruitment in 2014. A year passed and the sunny daydreams of techno and bratwurst rapidly turned into daily carriage crushes and perfecting the art of turning pages with the use of only her nose - it was time for a change! Amy moved to Brighton in July 2015 with her partner, puppies and cabinet of curiosity. Amy was introduced to the ARC IT team in May 2016 where she spent a couple of weeks resourcing for Marcus and Paul on a temporary basis. Amy returned to ARC IT earlier this year where she job-shares with Katey. Alongside her resourcing role at ARC IT, Amy manages weekly drop-in sessions at a young persons charity and cooks at community cafe. In her spare time, Amy runs her own business creating and teaching ethical Taxidermy.
Katey has been working in recruitment for 10 years. Prior to this she worked for an IT Support and Services company where she had many ‘hats’ working in support, sales, office management and training. She joined the team at ARC in 2012 and has not looked back! Well only briefly… Now working as a Resourcer / Consultant she provides support to Marcus’s Team where there is never a slow day! Learning to multi-task and juggling many balls are key aspects of the job. These skills are also required in her home life as she’s mum to 8 year old Finley and a feisty but fabulous toddler called Amelie. Katey loves to spend her downtime going out for dinner, having a glass of wine (only one as she’s a lightweight!) and catching up with friends and family.
Luca likes to think of himself as the ‘clever one’ of the team but, despite this, has been a valued member of the ARC IT team since September 2015. This is Luca’s first role within the recruitment industry but his sales experience, as well as his experience from a client perspective, gave him the perfect skillset to make a seamless transition and he has now established himself as a Senior Consultant within the ARC team.
Luca is passionate about sport and has recently made the switch from an avid sportsman into a devoted watcher of sport who is able to produce, on que, a plethora of unsubstantiated sports ‘facts’ to the delight of the rest of the team.
Josie recently obtained her degree in Business Management with HRM from the University of Brighton.
Josie joined the ARC team in July 2018, and formally became a full-time member of the team in July of 2019. Aside from reigning in Luca and Marcus on a daily basis, Josie enjoys biscuit teas throughout the day, watching the Kardashians and meditation.
Imogen has always relished a fast, agile way of working and following a career in sales Imogen took to the bright lights of ARC IT in May 2014.
Enjoying the complexity of the problems and the dynamic change as a Recruitment Consultant, Imogen quickly understood the vast (!) world in IT.
Building up a diverse client base Imogen works to a compelling strategy to achieve client and candidate satisfaction, taking personal satisfaction in both professional and personal growth.
Growing up in a family which can only be described like Kevin McCallister’s house in Home Alone, Imogen has certainly used that experience to enhance the weirdly wonderful team at ARC IT.
Ellis Joined ARC IT in 2016, making him one of the newest (and most handsome) recruits. Ellis began his career within the retail sector in a customer service role before quickly moving into the Junior Management Programme becoming the youngest member of staff to do so. After being monitored closely, Ellis was shipped into his first recruitment position where he hit the ground running and was promoted to successfully lead and promote a new sister brand before eventually making the switch over to ARC to focus on the IT industry. An avid footballer, Ellis has trialled at several professional clubs and even had the opportunity to represent his country before finally finding his true calling, in the club bars with a pint in hand!
Previously working in Education and the Financial Services sector, Ross assists Imogen and Ellis in resourcing for their roles up and down the UK.
When not working, you can often find Ross continuously adding to his music and film collection, crowd surfing at a gig, or praying for the umpteenth time that this might actually be the year that Leeds United finally go back into the Premiership!
Tina is relatively new to recruitment, having joined ARC IT in November 2015 as their Accounts Manager, but has been taking care of company accounts in both the public and private sector for most of her working career.
After a 14 year ‘stint’ in sunny St Lucia where she enjoyed the delights and tribulations of working in the Caribbean, she returned to the UK and has worked with various companies striving to optimise their profitability and generally keep the wheels turning as smoothly as possible.
Spare time includes dancing samba and salsa, and trying to improve her Spanish with the help of her Cuban husband.
It’s a rag’s to riches story for Oscar. He had a ‘ruff’ start to life, having joined us as a rescue dog from the sunny shores of Spain but has settled in nicely to the life of an office dog!
Happy to sit and watch the world go by, Oscar is loved by everyone who meets him. Since joining us he has already been ‘poached’ to do some modeling for a dog clothing company and is keen to get his paws in – let’s hope he remembers us when he is rich and famous!
